- DAY 2: Birding drive to Yanacocha Reserve - Tandayapa Cloud Forest
Early drive up to Yanococha area where we will spend all morning along the cloud forest for mixed flocks and the hummingirds feeders while we are having our lunch at the reserve. Then we will drive down to old Nono road for more species. We usually arrive to our lodge late afternoon. Diner and Night in Lodge (TYP)
Birds: Brown-backed Chat-tyrant, Tricolored Brush-finch, Stripe-headed Brush-Finch, Glossy Flowerpiercer, Superciliated Hemispingus, Shinning Sunbeam, Great Saphirewing, Sword-billed Hummingbird, Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanager, Tawny Antpitta and many others.
- DAY 3: Tandayapa birding - fedeers & trails
Early birding along Tandayapa cloud forest- For the resting time we will visit some feeders stations such as the San Tadeo fedders and the Alambi hummingbird station. After our amazing morning we will back to our lodge for lunch. Then we will bird along the trails. Dinner and night in Lodge (TYP)
Birds: Plate-billed Mountain Toucan, Violet-tailed Sylph, White- Booted Rackettail, Western Emerald, Montane Woodcreeper, Purple-throated Woodstar, Red-headed Barbet, Blue-winged Mountain-Tanager, Black-capped Tanager, Rufous-throated Tanage, Silver-throated Tanager, Golden-naped Tanager, Crimson-rumped Toucanet, Golden headed Quetzal, Masked Trogon and many more.
- DAY 4: Silanche Reserve - Canopy Tower
Early drive downslope to the Silanche Reserve. We will bird this area starting with the Canopy Tower looking for Choco endemics and then birding along the forest and surroundings. Night in Lodge (STL)
Bird: Scarlet-breasted Dacnis, Rufous-winged and Blue-whiskered Tanagers, Scarlet browed Tanager, Gray and Gold Tanager, Tawny-crested Tanager, Cinammon Woodpecker, Silver-throated Tanager, Dusky-faced Tanager, Black-cheeked Woodpecker, Blue-chested Hummingbird, Scarlet-breasted Dacnis, Yellow-tufted Dacnis, Scarlet-browed Tanager, Tawny-crowned Tanager, Purple-throated Fruitcrow and much more.
- DAY 5: Mashpi Road, Amagua feeders - Milpe Bird Station
Early drive to Mashpi area which is one of the last choco Forest patches.The species here are very specific and very special to this humid lowland rainforest. After our amazing time at the feeders and forest surroundings we will nack to our lodge for lunch. After lucnh we will go to Milpe road where we can find a lek of Club-winged Manakin. There is also Humminbirds, Toucan, tanagers feeders. Dinner and Night in Lodge (STL)
Birds: Moss-back Tanager, Glistening Green Tanager, Black Solitary, Indigo Flowerpiercer, Esmeraldas Antbird, Toucan Barbet and many more.
- DAY 6: Angel Paz Reserve - Quito
Early visit Cock of the Rock lek at the popular place Angel Paz where we can see also some species of Antpittas. After this amazing experience we will drive to Quito. Dinner and night in Hotel.
Birds: Black-chinned Mountain Tanager and Hoary Puffleg, Andean Cock of the Rocks, Giant Antpitta, Yellow-breasted Antpitta, Club winged Manakin, Beautiful Jay, Velvet-purple Coronet, Empress Brilliant, Purple-bibbed Whitetip, Collared Inca, Gorgeted Sunangel, Blue-capped Tanager, Dusky Bush-Tanager, Rufous-throated Tanager, Black-winged Saltator, Black-chinned Mountain-Tanager, Flame-faced Tanager, Moss-backed Tanager, Orange breasted Fruiteater, Golden-collared Honeycreeper, Black chinned Mountain Tanager, Yellow faced Grassquit, Streak capped Treehunter, Uniform Treehunter and many more.
- DAY 7: Antizana- Papallacta Pass
Early drive to Antizana National Park where we will search for paramo specialties. Then we will head to Papallacta area for more species. and get the old route for target species. Afterwards we will explore the unique Polylepis Forest for speciealist with the chance to explore Suco Lake for andean waterbirds. We Usually arrive to our lodge late afternoon. Dinner and night in Lodge (GL)
Birds: Andean Condor, Black-faced Ibis, Paramo Pipit, Black-winged Ground-Dove, Giant Hummingbird, Viridian Metaltail, Red-rumped Bush-Tyrant, Rufous-bellied Seedsnipe, Ecuadorian Hillstar, Giant Conebill, White-chinned Thistletail, Black-backed Bush-Tanager, Silvery Grebe and many others.
- DAY 8: Birding and San Isidro
Today we will have a full day birding along the road, feeders and lodge surroundings. Dinner and night in Lodge (SI)
Birds: Masked-Mountain-Tanager, Paramo Tapaculo, Agile Tit-Tyrant,Sword-billed Hummingbird, Chestnut- breasted Coronet, Mountain Velvetbreast, Tourlamine Sunangel, Mountain Avocetbill and many others.
Today we will bird the trails and lodge surrounding for the full day. Night in Lodge (SI)
Birds: Crested Quetzal, Masked Trogon, Andean Cock-of- the-rock, Green Jay, White-capped, Saffron-crowned, Golden-naped, Beryl-spangled, Blue and black, and Blue- winged Mountain Tanagers, San Isidro Owl and many others.
- DAY 10: San Isidro-WildsSumaco area
After breakfast we will drive to the Loreto road in the foothills of the Andes searching for several species along the road such mixed flocks of tanagers and several other specialist found along the area. There is a chance to do some owling. Night in Lodge (WSL)
Birds: Paradise, Orange eared, Golden-eared, Magpie Tanagers, Blue-naped Chlorophonia, Cliff Flycatcher, and Orange-breasted Falcon, Golden-Collared Toucanet, Band-bellied Owl, Foothill Screech-Owl and many others.
- DAY 11-12: Full Days Birding
Today we will bird the trails and along the road is very good for mix flocks which we will explore mornign and late afternoon and for our free time there are feeders to enjoin also. Night in Lodge (WSL)
Birds: Coppery chested Jacamar, Gray-tailed Piha, Blue-rumped Manakin, Napo Sabrewing, Ecuadorian Piedtail, Many-spotted Hummmingbird, Booted Racket-tail (orange legs), Chestnut-crowned Gnateater, White-tipped Sicklebill, Blackish Rail, Rufous-naped Greenlet, Coraya Wren, Foothill Antwren and many others.
- DAY 13: Birding and back to Quito
Today there is a chance for some extra birding along the trails for some missing species. And then we will drive back to Quito in time for your flight to home or any other connections
