Manu Cloud Forest

From the Cusco valley, we climb endemic-rich arid slopes to the high puna zone and then descend from treeline through temperate and subtropical cloudforest down to the foothill zone at the eastern base of the Andes. Based at several comfortable lodges, we bird up and down one of the "birdiest" roads in the world (MANU ROAD), which ribbons its way through wilderness full of flagship east-slope species (like Lyre-tailed Nightjar, Red-and-white Antpitta, Andean Cock-of-the-rock, White-collared Jay, Golden Tanager and Versicolored Barbet) and a handful of endemics and regional specialties.

NOTE: You have to arrive into cusco one day before or there is an option to take the earliest flight from lima to cusco. We can help you to organize your transfer from the airport and hotel in cusco or lima also.

  • Hi Omar,

Im a pretty good birder, but Omar Diaz spotted at least 200 species that I probably would have overlooked! He knows his birds by sight and sound and is very passionate about his chosen profession.

My Dad is not a birder but was extremely impressed by how well organized and professional the trip was. Thanks Omar and Americo!

I hope you and your family are doing well.
