  • DAY 1: Arrive to Lima - Peru

We will welcome at the airport with a sign of Peru Birding Tours and transfer you to our Hotel selected for this tour.

  • DAY 2: Villa Marshes/Pucusana - Cusco 

Pick up at 7:30 am – Drive for 30 minutes to reach villa marshes. Then we will go to Pucusana for our semi-pelagic boat trip. After lunch we will drive to lima airport for our late afternoon flight to Cusco.

Target Species: Many-Colored Rusth-Tyrant, Wren-like Rushbird, Great Grebe, Yellow-Hooded Blackbird, Inca Tern, Peruvian Booby, Blue-footed Booby, Peruvian Pelican, Humboldt Penguin, Guanay and Red-legged Cormorants, Blackish Oystercatcher, Surf Cinclodes (E), Coastal Miner (E), Amazilia Hummingbird, Peruvian Medowlark, Peruvian Thick-knee, Purple-collared Woodstart, Peruvian Pygmy-Owl, Pacific Parrotlet and many others.

  • DAY 3: Machu Picchu Time

Breakfast and we will be transfer to Poroy station for our train trip to Aguas Calientes where we will take the bus to Machu Picchu site. We will enjoy the Inca site for the rest of the morning. After lunch we will back to Cusco as we came.

  • DAY 4: Manu National Park - Manu Road

After breakfast we will start our Manu road time. We will drive for 20 minutes to get Huacarpay lake to spend some time birding for target species. Then we will have a long drive for 3 hours to get the last village (Paucartamnbo) before Manu National Park begins. After lunch we will have some 30 minutes to get Manu Road and we will search for mixed flocks along the road until we arrive to our first lodge

Target Species: Bearded Mountanier (E), Moustached Flowerpiercer, Hooded Mountain-Tanager, Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanager, Golden-collared Tanager, Grass-green Tanager, Gray-mantled Wren, Mountain Foliage-Gleaner, Olive-Backed Woodcreeper, Stripe Threehunter, Scale-crested Pygmy-Tyrant, Inca Flycatcher(E), Marble-faced Bristle-Tyrant, Stripe-Chested Antwren, White-backed Fire-Eye, Black-eared Hemispingus, Yellow-breasted Antwren, Yungas Manakin, Yellow-throated, common Clorospingus, Dusky-Green Oropendola, Brown Tinamou, Rufous-tailed Tyrant, Chestnut-backed Antshrike, Unicolored Antshrike, Andean Motmot, Rufescent Screech-Owl, Blue-naped Chlorophonia, Yellow-breasted Antbird, Black-streaked Puffbird and many others.

  • DAY 5: Full day Birding

Early breakfast and we will visit the Andean Cock of the rock Lek. After the amazing time there, we will be continuing birding along the Manu road. After lunch we will do the lower side of the road. Before dinner we will do some owling.

Target Species: Andean Cock of the Rock, Versicolored Barbet, Beryl-spangled, Safron-Crown, Golden Tanagers and Orange-eared, Yellow-throated, Slaty, Golden-naped, Paradise, Blue-necked, Bay-headed, Spotted Tanagers, Deep-blue Flowerpiercer, Three-stripe Warbler, Russet-crowned Warbler, Black-faced Brush-finch, Golden-headed Quetzal, Crested Quetzal, Amazonian Umbrellabird, Wire-crested Thorntail, Speckled Hummingbird, Violet-headed Hummingbird, Peruvian Piedtail (E), Many-spotted Humminbird, Botted Raquetail, Gray-mantled Wren, Mountain Foliage-Gleaner, Olive-Backed Woodcreeper, Stripe Threehunter, Scale-crested Pygmy-Tyrant, Marble-faced Bristle-Tyrant, Stripe-Chested Antwren, White-backed Fire-Eye, Black-eared Hemispingus, Yellow-breasted Antwren, Yungas Manakin, Yellow-throated, common Clorospingus, Dusky-Green Oropendola, Brown Tinamou, Rufous-tailed Tyrant, Chestnut-backed Antshrike, Unicolored Antshrike, Andean Motmot, Rufescent Screech-Owl, Blue-naped Chlorophonia, Yellow-breasted Antbird and many others.

  • DAY 6: Birding drive the upper Manu Road

Early breakfast and then we will have our second morning birding along the Manu road for some missing species. We will leave after lunch and bird the upper road for other species. Then we will arrive to our last lodge in Manu road

Target Species: Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanager, Grass-green Mountain-Tanager, Chestnut-bellied Mountain-Tanager, Hooded Mountain-Tanager, Barred Becard, Red-crested and Chestnut-crested Cotingas, Slaty-backed Chat-tyrant, Golden-headed Quetzal, Golden-collared Tanager, Gray-breasted Mountain-Toucan, Blue-banded Toucanet, Red and White Antpitta (E), Marcapata Spinetail (E) and many others.and many others.

  • DAY 7: Birding drive to Cusco

Early breakfast and we will bird along the road for mixed flocks and target species. After lunch we will drive up to Cusco city.

  • DAY 8: Flight to Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata Reserve

Breakfast and we will be transfer to Cusco airport for our flight to Puerto Maldonado. There we will be welcome and transfer to the Madre de Dios River for our boat ride for 30 minutes downstream till Sandoval lake entrance. There we will do a short bird walk along the trail. There we will take our small boat to navigate part of the oxbow lake with chance to find several species on our way to our lodge in Tambopata Reserve.

  •  DAY 9: Oxbow lake & trails

Early birding around the oxbow lake by boat with paddles. There is a chance to find a family of Giant River Otters. Then we will back to our lodge for breakfast and we will bird along the trails for interior forest specialties. After lunch we will search for more species around the lake Sandoval.

Birds: Purple-throated Fruitcrow, Bare-necked Fruitcrow, Golden-Collared Toucanet, Emerald Toucanet, Curl-crested Aracari, Chestnut-eared Aracari, Ivory-billed Aracari, Ringed Woodpecker, Blue-headed Macaw, Red and Green Macaw, Scarlet Macaw and many others.

  • DAY 10: Birding nd transfer to Collpas Lodge

After breakfast we will start our way back to Puerto Maldonado town where we will go our next and last lodge for our amazing trip. We will drive for 1:30 minutes to get Tambopata river and then we will go by boat for 30 minutes to reach our place. If times permits there is a chance to do some afternoon birding

  • DAY 11: Macaw Clay Lick & Trails

Early boat rides up stream for 2 hours to reach the biggest macaw clay lick in world. This is a meeting place of Parrots, Parakeets and Macaws which happens every morning. After this spectacular show of colors, we will back to our lodge. After lunch we will do some walk along the trails

  • DAY 12: Birding in Puerto Maldonado - Flight to Lima

Morning birding and then transfer to Puerto Maldonado Airport for your flight to Lima and connections.
