Although it is difficult to be flexible with a tour, we will try where possible to make changes depending on our birding success, to allow more time where it can be best spent. Thus, we might end up emphasizing one area more than another. Whatever we do, it will be close to the following to get the best birding trip for everybody.

• DAY 1: Arrive in Lima

Usually, international flights arrive in Peru from 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm. We’ll pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel selected. We mainly stay in the Miraflores area. Overnight Hotel - Habitat/Casa Andina

•  DAY 2: Lima – Villa Marshes, Pucusana - Cuzco

Breakfast and we will drive for about 30 minutes south of Miraflores to Villa Marsh (Pantanos de Villa) for a couple of hours. Then we will drive for 30 minutes south of Pantanos de Villa to Pucusana fishing port for our Semi Pelagic birding Tour. There we will navigate on our private local boat for penguins and other sea birds. After our amazing birding day we will celebrate our lunch with a Ceviche and Pisco sour. Then we will drive straight to Lima airport for our afternoon flight to Cuzco. After checking into our hotel if time permits we will visit the main square and have dinner nearby. Overnight in Cusco - Hotel Virrey/Casa Andina

• DAY 3: Cuzco – Huacarpay Lake – Manu Road

Breakfast and we will start our birding adventure into the famous Manu Road. We will drive for 30 minutes south of Cuzco to start with Huacarpay Lake; this natural Andean marsh provides huge bird diversity. After this amazing place, we will drive to the beginning of Manu Road arriving first at Paucartambo village for lunch. Then we’ll head up to Acjanaco where Manu National Parks Begins and officially our birding along Manu Road birding along the road for mixed flocks or other target species. We will arrive at the lodge late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Cock of the Rock Lodge or Manu Paradise Lodge

•  DAY 4: Full day birding along Manu Road

We will start with the amazing Cock of the Rock Lek; we can watch this spectacular bird very close from a blind. Then we’ll keep birding for the rest of the morning up and down the road. We will be back for Lunch and have some time off watching hummingbirds at the feeders in front of the Comedor. We will do some birding in the afternoon and search for owls. Dinner and night in Cock of the Rock Lodge or Manu Paradise Lodge

• DAY 5: Birding to the Lower Manu Road

Morning birding for some missing species and then we will head to our next birding lodge at the lower side of Manu Road around 500m after our accommodation we will spend some time birding at the lodge surroundings and feeder in front of the dining room. Dinner and night in Villa Carmen station now is called Manu Biolodge

•  DAY 6: Full-Day Birding

We will have a full day to spend birding along the bamboo forest and in the afternoon we will visit the new places running for local families where they have feeders for hummingbirds, Tanager, and Antpittas. We will also explore a small oxbow lake for extra species. Dinner and night in Villa Carmen Station now is called Manu Biolodge

•  DAY 7: Birding to the Upper Manu Road

Morning birding along the bamboo forest for some missing species and then we will start our birding drive up to the mountains cloud forest at 3,000m where is located our last lodge for our amazing birding trip along Manu Road. We will bird basically along the Manu road for mixed flocks or any bird sighting. As soon we arrive at our lodge if time permits we will enjoin the feeders for the end of the day. Dinner and night in Wayquecha Sation.

• DAY 8: Birding and back to Cuzco/Ollantaytambo

Early birding along the Mountain cloud forest species. and after Lunch, we will head back to Cuzco on the way to the hummingbird feeder near Ollantaytambo Inca Site. Dinner and night in Ollantaytambo

• DAY 9: Birding to Abra Malaga - Carrizales

Early drive to Abra Malaga Pass where we will search along Polylepis forest and high mountain species found at 4,000m. Then we will cross the Pass to Carrizales where we will find more endemics arriving for lunch at Ipal Ecolodge. After Lunch we will head back to Ollantaytambo. Dinner and night in Ollantaytambo.

• DAY 10: Machu Picchu Time!

Early train ride to Aguas Calientes to visit Machu Picchu where we will have an unforgettable experience along the Inca site for the rest of the morning. Then we can do some birding before and after our lunch. Then we will take our train back to Cusco in time for your flight to Lima and connections.

If you prefer to stay in Cusco to spend some time around cusco next day, we can organize a hotel for you.
